TSC News editor Fred Richani discusses the Philadelphia Eagles FIRING head coach Doug Pederson after a 4-11-1 campaign in 2020 despite winning a Super Bowl three seasons ago, per NFL Media. For some reason, Eagles GM Howie Roseman retains his position and will have the complicated task of not only finding a new head coach, but possibly trading disgruntled quarterback Carson Wentz and his massive contract. This could also be a sign of a major plot twist where the Eagles KEEP Wentz and trade way promising second-round QB Jalen Hurts.

Whatever happens next for all parties involved will be very interesting — and nerve-wracking for Eagles fans!

Fast Facts about Doug Pederson:

  • Super Bowl XXXI champion as Philadelphia Eagles head coach (defeating Tom Brady and Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots with backup QB Nick Foles)
  • 46–39–1 (.541) career head coaching record
  • 4-2 postseason record
  • Former NFL journeyman quarterback (1991-2004)
  • Former offensive assistant under head coach Andy Reid with Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs
