WrestlingObserver.com’s Dave Meltzer reports no one in WWE leadership including Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, and Mark Carrano reached out to Renee Young after she tested positive for coronavirus. Meltzer says her husband Jon Moxley (current AEW World Champion) wanted the story to be made public.

I can’t blame him after his wife’s employer of nearly a decade put her in danger in a reckless environment devoid of acceptable health and safety during a pandemic. I truly hope Young leaves WWE for greener pastures upon recovery and makes a call to her lawyer.

-Impact Wrestling confirms the company will no longer use wrestler Michael Elgin. In other words, much like former World Champion Tessa Blanchard, Elgin got fired on his day off.

-WWE fired disgraced NXT UK bums Travis Banks and Ligero, who currently face multiple accusations of sexual assault and harassment. Good riddance. Now if WWE can please get rid of Wolfgang. who was CONFIRMED BY HIS OWN EX-FIANCEE to be possession of pictures of underage girls, that’s be great. This story is way too under the radar.

-Becky Lynch celebrated the sixth year anniversary of her WWE TV debut on NXT. How time flies!

WrestlingInc.com published a letter sent to them by an anonymous WWE talent who confirms wrestlers and personnel are not allowed to speak out about positive COVID-19 results. As far as I’m concerned, WWE wrestlers and crew don’t owe the company crap after being put in danger with no testing up until last week. Hell, taping SmackDown on Friday and Raw today (Saturday) after around THIRTY PEOPLE OR MORE TEST POSITIVE is absolutely reckless.

One of the many notable quotes from this report: “It was noted that talent were not allowed to wear masks, a policy that was changed at today’s SmackDown tapings.” There’s a special place in sports entertainment hell for Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn.

-Speaking of Hell, McMahon reportedly wants to run indoor shows with real, paying fans in July or August. At this stage, I’d trust my life with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, UFC President Dana White, and Roman Reigns before trusting Vince McMahon, Florida’s puppet governor, and the Cheeto.

-WWE NXT wrestler Velveteen Dream (Patrick Clark) was involved in a car accident and released from the hospital per Fightful.com’s Sean Ross Sapp. Mat Men Podcast reports Velveteen Dream is in danger of being fired, presumably due to the allegations of being a child predator. From NXT Title contender to disgraced, alleged child predator who could be unemployed by next week. What a difference a couple months make.

-WWE hostages superstars paid tribute to The Undertaker on Friday Night SmackDown, mainly to cover for a good chunk of the workforce out due to COVID-19. Undertaker claims he’s likely had his last match. We shall see…

-WWE Extreme Rules: THE HORROW SHOW (actual, tone deaf PPV name) takes place Sunday, July 19 at the coronavirus-infested WWE Performance Center and airs live on the WWE Network. Current WWE Extreme Rules 2020 card:

  • Non-title SWAMP MATCH: WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman vs. Bray Wyatt – Eater of Worlds version
  • WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Dolph Ziggler
  • WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bayley (c) vs. Nikki Cross (w/ Alexa Bliss)
  • WWE Raw Women’s Championship: Asuka (c) vs. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Sasha Banks

Rumored Matches: Rey Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins, Apollo Crews vs. Bobby Lashley for the WWE United States Championship, The Street Profits vs. Viking Raiders for Raw Tag Team Titles, Sheamus vs. Jeff Hardy

-Ring of Honor released a statement regarding an investigation of allegations levied towards talent. This is in reference to head booker Marty Scurll pretty much admitting to underage sex with a 16 year old girl. The alleged victim claims Scurll sexually assaulted her while she was drunk.

I’ve got nothing nice to say about Scurll and neither do any of my friends within ROH. Scurll should be in prison and at the very least, blacklisted from the wrestling industry for good. ROH Wrestling’s official statement:

“At Ring of Honor, we pride ourselves on the respectful and inclusive environment we have built, one that ensures all employees can work in a place where they feel safe and respected.

We take these matters extremely seriously and have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to this type of behavior.

Ring of Honor has launched an immediate investigation into the claims made against its currently contracted wrestlers. We will update you on our investigation once it concludes.”
