From Earlier: Matt Riddle, Jimmy Havoc among many wrestlers accused of sexual assault/harassment
WWE has officially released NXT UK and 205 Live talent Jack Gallagher after allegations of sexual assault and harassment were made public by the alleged victim on Twitter. Via WWE.com: “WWE has come to terms on the release of Jack Gallagher (Jack Claffey).”
In the midst of professional wrestling’s version of the #MeToo movement titled #SpeakingOut, Gallagher is accused of sexual assaulting two women.
For legal reasons, we have to note these are allegations. However, they need to be taken seriously and clearly, WWE did enough to release the cruiserweight wrestler within hours of the news breaking.
WWE released the following statement in regards to sexual assault allegations made against SmackDown superstar Matt Riddle by independent wrestler Candy Cartwright: “We take any allegation of this nature very seriously and are looking into the matter.”
WWE also released a statement on sexual assault/harassment allegations against NXT UK’s Wolfgang, Jordan Devlin, Travis Banks, El Ligero, and Joe Coffey:
“Individuals are responsible for their own personal actions. WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, child abuse and sexual assault. Upon arrest for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately suspended. Upon conviction for such misconduct, a WWE talent will be immediately terminated. WWE’s ability to fine, suspend or terminate a WWE talent will not be, however, limited or compromised in any manner in the event incontrovertible evidence of such illegal misconduct is presented to WWE.”
