Broadcast Notes: Commentators were Byron Saxton, Samoa Joe, Tom Phillips. NXT wrestlers were in the crowd.

During Raw, Forgotten Bum Jaxson Ryker got rightfully dragged on Twitter for supporting fascism, especially after the President gassed and attacked his own citizens.

Seth Rollins eulogized Rey Mysterio’s career in what has to be like the third or fourth time they’ve teased his retirement in the last two years. Aleister Black interrupted, which lead to…

Aleister Black defeated Seth Rollins (with Austin Theory and Buddy Murphy). An awesome match you’d expect given the talent involved that went just over 20 minutes. Humberto Carrillo distracted Rollins leading to Black rolling him up for the pin. After the match, The Monday Night Messiah and friends beat up Black and Carrillo to get the laugh.

Angel Garza hits on Charly Caruso backstage during an interview and brags about his win over Kevin Owens last week on Monday Night Raw. Zelina Vega isn’t thrilled with Garza giving Caruso a rose and rips it apart once he walks off. Poor Charly,

Shawn Michaels puts over his great wrestling matches and thinks Edge vs. Randy Orton could be the greatest ever. HBK picks Edge to win because of his experience, faith, and wisdom. I still have no idea why WWE decided THIS is the match we’re going to deem the greatest. Vince McMahon, everybody.

Backstage, Lana and Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) argue over Bobby Lashley. MVP says Lana is attention-seeking and that he needs to prepare for Drew McIntyre. Lana says MVP is trying to revise his washed up career. MVP says if it was true, wouldn’t that be true for her? Lana hits MVP with an awkward looking slap after a staredown that lasted far too long and walked off. Lana continues to be one of the most poorly scripted characters. It’s almost as if 99% of the writing team is men or something.

Apollo picked Owens as his opponent. KO says he feels like this is a pity pick and that while he deserves a title OPPORTUNITY (lol WWE Speak), he is focused on Angel Garza. Crews tells him no pity whatsoever, just respect. Owens accepts the challenge and tells Apollo he’s going to have a short U.S. Title reign.

WWE United States Championship: Apollo Crews (c) vs. Kevin Owens ended in a no contest when Andrade and Angel Garza attacked both men. A very good, long match before the crappy finish. Happy to see Apollo get a chance to shine.

WWE United States Champion Apollo Crews and Kevin Owens defeated Andrade and Angel Garza (with Zelina Vega)

The Viking Raiders defeated WWE Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits in a game of Bowling, 131-130. I turned this off once Dawkins started throwing up in a trade McMahon toilet humor moment.

The IIconics’ Billie Kay (with Peyton Royce) defeated WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Nikki Cross.

Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio responded to Seth Rollins and promised “an eye for an eye.”

R-Truth defeated Rob Gronkowski to win the WWE 24/7 Championship. PWInsider.com confirms Gronk is no longer with WWE.

Nia Jax defeated Kairi Sane of Kabuki Warriors. Sane suffered a bad cut on her head after being thrown into the ring steps. This is the second time in recent weeks that Jax has hurt Sane. CHILL OUT, NIA.

Randy Orton is ready to end Edge at WWE Backlash.

WWE NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair defeated WWE Raw Women’s Champion Asuka by countout. Nia Jax distracted Asuka with her own entrance and facepaint.

WWE Champion Drew McIntyre defeated MVP in a non-title match. Lana was at ringside much to the dismay of MVP. Bobby Lashley incapacitated McIntyre with the Full Nelson after the match.

WWE Backlash 2020 takes place Sunday, June 14 at the empty WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL and airs live on WWE Network.

Current WWE Backlash 2020 Card:

WWE Championship: Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Lashley (with Montel Vontavious Porter aka MVP). This is Lashley’s first WWE Championship match since his loss to John Cena at Great American Bash on July 22, 2007.

Edge vs. Randy Orton in a straight wrestling match with no gimmicks and stipulations.

WWE is hyping Edge vs. Orton of all matches as potentially the GREATEST MATCH OF ALL TIME. This could certainly be great given who is involved, but GREATEST MATCH EVER? In front of NO FANS who are a key element of wrestling? Strange marketing…

2-on-1 Handicap Match for WWE Universal Championship: Braun Strowman (c) vs. The Miz and John Morrison

WWE Raw Women’s Championship: Asuka (c) vs. Nia Jax
