WWE officially revealed the new United States Championship belt on the July 6 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw.

This marks the first new design of WWE’s version of the U.S. Title since it debuted at the Vengeance pay-per-view on July 27, 2003. On that night, Eddie Guerrero defeated Chris Benoit to become the first “WWE” U.S. Champion, although the title’s official lineage dates back to 1975 with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

For whatever reason, the actual current U.S. Champion Apollo Crews wasn’t on hand to unveil the new title on Raw. Instead, WWE opted to have his The Horror Show at Extreme Rules (horrific PPV name) opponent Bobby Lashley and MVP showcase the newest championship gold.

Do you give the new WWE United States Championship belt design a thumbs up or thumbs down?
