Rockstar’s smash hit GTA V gets a third life on the newest generation of consoles.
Believe it or not, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V is getting a second remastered version, this time for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
The latest GTA 5 incarnation will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X in the second half of 2021. That pretty much puts an end to GTA 6 speculation, a game that is probably a very long way from being completed.
The good news for active GTA 5 players is that they will receive $1 million in GTA Online Maze Bank money per month until the launch of the PS5 version — if they are subscribed to PlayStation Plus. Just make sure you login at least once per month.
A standalone GTA Online version of GTA 5 will also be free on PS5 for the first three month’s of the game’s release.
GTA 5 has sold over 130 million copies across all platforms since 2013 and has generated roughly $6 billion and counting to date, making it not just one of the most successful video games ever, but most profitable entertainment products of all-time.
As for exactly how enhanced and expanded a third generation of GTA 5 really is… Stay tuned. Additional details from Rockstar Games below.
